Default Changes at the Waterfront.

my apologies to anyone who was looking for singles night at the waterfront this past monday as i understand the singles nights have been changed. monday will be a piano bar (which is lovely for a date) and wed will remain the same with sumter singles gathering there...now friday and saturday are trying to attract more singles, which should not be difficult. they are also going to build a partition enclosing the table and dance area to separate it from the front desk but i think that will be rather claustrophobic when there is a big crowd would be great if it opened out to the patio! last night there was no place to sit so my friends and i went over to cody's for fajita night! i imagine that will be worse when it is closed off and when the snowbirds arrive! we shall see!

This is very sad news. I can't imagine the Waterfront without Sal and his Gal. They always drew a good crowd of dancers and she was such a delight. Are they playing somewhere else?

Has anyone tried Monday's since there is a piano man there? Sorry but it just doesn't sound very exciting.

Lisa Coan (the "gal" in Sal & gal) has been entertaining at City Fire both LSL and Brownwood and is drawing quite a crowd. Lots of fun, great dancing and she's as upbeat and good as ever. Suggest you check her out at those places in the meantime.

Apparently they are supposed to come back to Waterfront after the lobby is redone, but that is not confirmed at yet.

I haven't been there on Monday for the piano player, I believe its the same person that was there on Friday nights previously and he drew a nice crowd also.

The new dancing night is now Friday and last night they had a great crowd, not terribly overcrowded but excellent dance music. I think in the end, it will all turn out very well.

A couple more years and the developer will sell the waterfront just like he just did with holiday inn express for a 2.5 million dollar profit in 4 years. Smart business. If he gets the right price he will sell the golf cart store also. Club car is financing part of the new buiulding to get their foot in the door. Good for both parties concerned.

i think some private entrepreneur could do very well to open a dance hall the size of katie belle's further south and offer good dance music nightly. the few places that have dancing are always crowded. i think most singles would happily pay a $5 entrance and of course couples love to dance, too!!! i guess a bar would be necessary but some healthy juice drinks could become very popular, too. would be nice if they stayed open a bit later, also!

I wish that another dance hall like katie bells would be built but I doubt the villages would do it. The profit from food, drinks, cover charges when most nights the place is packed must be quite healthy. The cost of another building and employee cost make it easier to just have 1 place. For a private party to build a place of that size, the rent would probably be to high.
