Exactly what is considered "oldies" music these days. 50's? 90's?

We consider Oldies as songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s.

Funny that we are mid 70's and grew up with music from 60's and 70's but so much 50's are played here.

Never got into it and wonder why so much of the 50's are played as folks older than us are getting scarcer every day

The 50s had doo wop and a "groupies" sound to many of the hit songs. When the Beatles and the British invasion hit the scene in the 60s, musical styles changed. Many Villagers in their late 60s and 70s grew up listening to 50s tunes because their parents played those songs in the house. It's easy to love that music!!
