I've been in The Villages for nine years but became single a few weeks ago.

Looking to get to know some nice women.

My interests are music and golf.

Dr. Boogie, Condolences for your loss. There is a thriving singles scene here in The Villages. Most of it is very laid back and non-threatening. To get an idea of what's available, you can go to Facebook and search for the group Single in The Villages.

Before this goes too far what assumptions are being made about "a loss" ? I'm sympatric to any kind of loss but why does my gut tell me this is heading somewhere it was not intended ?

I found computer dating disappointing. Many "fakes" out there. Some are on it just for fun.
Other than computer dating, I found most women to be sincere, but yes, there are some "gold diggers", so one must be careful.
Take your time, yes, but do not be afraid of "jumping in", if it seems the right match comes along. We are not getting any younger.
