Grand Funk Railroad at The Villages Open Air Concert Series - Dec 18
Known as “The American Band”, the high-energy five-piece group, Grand Funk Railroad, laid the groundwork for such bands as Foreigner, Journey, Van Halen and Bon Jovi with its signature hard driving sound, soulful vocals, muscular instrumentation and forceful pop melodies. The fact that Grand Funk’s legacy still reigns over the Classic Rock landscape fifty years later is a testament to the group’s influence and staying power.

Mark Farner left the band for good in 1998. Like 23 years ago.

We saw the Guess Who in Vegas back in the 2000's, and they were great. There were only two of the original bandmembers in it at the time, neither of which were Randy Bachman.
I asked awhile back if anyone would be interested in bringing Jefferson Starship back (they've played at the Performing Arts Center in Spanish Springs in the past), but didn't get enough people expressing interest. My sister and their current owner/bassist have been friends since childhood, so I could've helped get them back. Chris (the bassist/owner) said he'd consider it, when I asked before I posted, at the time. David Freiberg is the only member still in the group from their 1974 split-off from Jefferson Airplane. |

To the skeptics: I saw GFR 3 years ago with Seeger on his last tour.
No Farner, but very good. |

Really look forward to hearing and see them play in December. Where I lived was never close enough as a kid to see them in concert. Growing up with their music was fun and for me, it still is.

Mark was with the band on the Rock legends cruise in Feb., 2019, out of Ft.Lauderdale. Looks like at that time there were a number of different members then noted now. Great concert at that time.

I agree with you. It isn't GFR without Mark.

They are good even without Mark. Kulick is really good.

I agree, it's like watching the Stones without Jagger.

I'm Your Captain...
I've been fortunate enough to see them numerous times over the last few years. They are fantastic. Go see them. You won't be sorry.
