Bodemeister won the Arkansas D by 9 1/2 lengths with a Beyer of 108. That along with his successful trainer and barn certainly seems to move him to the head of the eligibles list.

Tal,
I'm too lazy to do my own research. Are there any Florida horses(either born or trained) that look good for the Derby this year? Thanks |

Just a running joke--sort of--I share with the Snopes people. http://message.snopes.com/showthread.php?t=68272 http://msgboard.snopes.com/cgi-bin/u...2;t=000576;p=7 http://msgboard.snopes.com/cgi-bin/u...2;t=000576;p=2
An interesting aside about the Kentucky Derby. http://www.snopes.com/lost/kfc.asp Last edited by Taltarzac725; 04-25-2012 at 07:46 AM. |

My wife and I go to the local OTB in our town each year to bet on the "big three." That is our extent of betting on horse races.
A few years ago, my wife bet on a horse named "Giacomo" because she liked his name. A win/place/show bet for $6 netted her oer $150. She's been pretty lucky with bets placed that away over the past few years. |

I think that most astute observers and handicappers of thorougbred racing would have to be particularly in awe of Bodemeister's Arkansas Derby win.
The way he won was sensational and appears that he has all the attributes of a winning horse in the Kentuck Derby. But I would have to continue on by saying that last year's Triple Crown races were about the most difficult to handicap in many years. I'm afraid that on the first Sat. in May this year you may have a favorite that closes at better than 7-2 on the tote board and picking this year's winner might just be a real problem. Remains to be seen, but playing sentimentally this year might be as good a pick as trying to disect all of the p/p's and other handicapping material. Good luck. Perhaps someone wants to start a poll between now and May 5th to see what TOTV's posters think and their ultimate selection.

Taltarzac-would be curious as to your choice in the Derby and why.

He seems to have the stamina, will be well rested, and can come from the middle to win. Union Rags still the 1 in AP's Run to Roses Top 10 |
