Now, going for the Winter Olympics would be crazy. Do you think, however, that the Summer Olympics will ever come to the Orlando/Tampa Bay area?

This would make it quite spead out, but the Atlanta Summer Olympics were also in venues that were often many miles apart.

The Villages might even be able to host some Olympic events?? Golf??

If Tahoe is thinking for a bid for the Winter Olympics, cannot see why Tampa Bay and Orlando could not try. We would need a better rail system then right now.

An interesting thought but not likely, IMHO.

In addition to your on-point observation of a needed rail system, the infrastructure in general would require serious upgrades. Then there is the issue of our daily lightning storms though the mid-summer, and risks of increased hurricane threats of late summer/early fall.

But if TV could host the golf venue, clubhouses- real clubhouses- would have to be built. Probably in 44 days or so.

And if TV were to host the swimming and diving events, swimdawg and others would finally get their indoor pool, and a natatorium to boot!
