Another movie not worth the price of admission . . . George must really need money to be making movies like this . . . maybe he should go back to ER. Went with six couples and not one person liked this flick! On the old 0-10 scale this was a two!

That is disappointing to hear. I've read he deserves an Oscar for his performance. Obviously not true, based on your comments.

Thumbs down Worse

I can honestly say that his movie "The American" was by far the worse movie I have ever seen. It was beyond terrible. As a result we decided we would not go to this one because we do not trust him to make a good movie. We saw it on Cape Cod thinking it would be a good way to spend an evening. What an awful mistake.

It's "Descendants" and is a real tear jerker chick flick. Not the best. Promos made it look like it would be funny....father raising rebellious teenage girls and comedy ensues....NOT!Very disappointing.

Default Pretty good drama

The Descendents is not George Clooney's best movie, but not his worst either. It' s a fairly intense family drama about a father who hasn't been too involved in the lives of his two daughters but now has to be involved when their mother is seriously injured in a boating accident. I thought George did a pretty good job portraying a father and husband going through a crisis and the fall out from that crisis. The movie is set in Hawaii, and some of the scenery is gorgeous.

The movie has an R rating because of language. If I had talked to my father like the two young ladies talked to their father in the movie, I still would not be able to sit down if you know what I mean. Aside from the language, I thought the two actresses who played the daughters in the movie did a very good job.

This may be a little too heavy for holiday viewing, but if you like family dramas this may be worth a look. I would give The Descendents 2.8 stars out of four.

Default We enjoyed The Descendants

when we saw it in November as it was non-violent and a good family film. The teenage girl did an amazing job portraying that age in these times. The younger one also did well and George Clooney managed to pull off a decent performance. There is so little to watch these days that it is nice to be able to go out and see something that is watchable and free from the kill-em action and vampire genres that are so popular now. I did think that the ending came fast, but that didn't detract from the overall film and the Hawaiian scenery was terrific. Just my 2-cents FWIW.

I can't say this is the worst movie I ever seen but it was in the top three although I can't recall the other two.

I couldn't make any sense of the plot and it may be my hearing but I thought they mumbled a lot. What happened to the days where they made movie with a decent soundtrack.

I saw this movie in TV two years ago and what a waste of time. I would have pereferred hanging out in the squares for those three hours. It would have been more enjoyable.

Default very good film

i wasn't looking forward to this film after all the bad reviews here but i thought it was very good, moving and realistic...i agree the two daughters needed a good dose of discipline but the character of clooney was a bit over whelmed with everything going on....the hawaiian scenery was lovely and i liked the hawaiian music in the soundtrack...his goodbye to his wife was very moving....made me cry..."my pain, my joy"....
