Default "After Yang" a sleeper type of sci/fi movie

"After Yang" stars Colin Farrell, who I happen to like, in a science fiction movie set in the NEAR future. It has very few special futuristic effects, just enough to convince the viewer that they are NOT in the present time. It relies on good acting and writing. It has no wars and no aliens. Just a slice of life (very believable) in that NEAR future. It is very thought provoking about the quality of family life. The story revolves around a very lifelike ROBOT named Yang that is an INTEGRAL part of the family.

Sounds like my kind of movie, I will watch it.

My wife and I are just finishing up Collection of Witches (based on All Souls Trilogy). If you like fantasy, I highly recommend it. It is more of a "romance" novel with little to no sex, but if you watch it you will never think the same of vampires again. Excellent cinematography, excellent acting and casting, and superb writing.

Thank you

We both fell asleep watching After Yang. I don’t understand the positive reviews, but I’m glad you liked it.

I can understand people thinking that "After Yang" is SLOW. I wrote that there are no aliens, alien wars, or many BOLD special effects. You know that you are placed inside the FUTURE as you are viewing a SMALL slice of family life in the near future. It is a little like drinking fine wine - which needs to be tasted s-l-o-w-l-y.

"After Yang" also had an ending that I liked. Many movies and series try to throw out some SURPRISE element to their ending - and it ruins the ending. I believe that an example of that is "Better Call Saul" 's ending.
