In honor of the late Chris Kyle, American Sniper shows the terror of warfare from the perspective of one of the United States heroes.


Great work by Clint Eastwood and the cast and crew.


I volunteered at the Veterans Hospital in Reno, Nevada for a year of Saturday afternoons back in 1977-1978 and had the honor of meeting and then drawing most of the patients on the long term care wing. Veterans from the Spanish American War as well as WWI for the most part with a few from other wars as well as from active duty I various places. And one younger man from the Vietnam War.

Had sketched these men off of excellent photos taken by a man with a good idea to catching the character of the men.


They hired an art major for the University of Nevada, Reno to continue the drawings of the men after I had left. The new arrivals on the wing also wanted their pictures on the wall outside their rooms.
