I don't really know why anyone would think that this movie would be a top priority for ANY theater. I haden't looked at what movie was being discussed until now...what a bunch of wasted space. Doesn't matter who it's about. It's a documentary with a VERY limited audience.

I agree with you once more Gerryann.
.

A movie theater is a place for ENTERTAINMENT, not enlightenment, or study or education.

I really didn't mean that it wouldn't be a good documentary, or wouldn't be enlightening, or wouldnt be a good movie for educating. I just meant that it isn't going to be a blockbuster that most theaters would pick up the first week of release. I'm sure it will have its place for those that are looking for that form of "entertainment".

I forgot the I agree part. I was agreeing with you.

Sometimes movies do make us change our political views, but we don't go to the movie theater usually to find political documentaries.

I assume you live in Schaumburg which is close to O'Hare. Hey, that's a pretty nice burg to live in! If you depend on your slot winnings to buy you a house in TV, a new snowblower might be a good idea while they are on sale this summer.

Schaumburger did you ever read so much to do about a documentary movie that may not be shown in TV? I guess I'm just not one to get that excited about any movie ----especially a documentary.

I wonder if the manager of the Rialto has run away from home yet? I'm still waiting to hear what he had to say!

Default Conspiracy Theorists Abound

Well this has certainly turned embarassing. A little red-faced are we? Or is the crimson from anger at not being able to unearth the conspiracy that has befallen us weak minded folk?

Much ado about nothing.

My doctor says in order to keep my blood pressue under control, I should disavow any knowledge of conspiracies, even though, as my rabbit friend Harvey once told me, "They're out to get me ya know."

The Sky Is Falling.

I really do prefer to spend my time worrying about the health of my friends and family, rather than wasting it on the rants and raves of the verbal minority.

My name is Paul, and I approve this message!

I don't understand the point of your post. Or at least how you feel about the movie being shown or not at the local theaters.

I don't know whether I would enjoy the movie, but generally one doesn't go to the local theaters to view documentary type movies. Or perhaps this is not such a movie?

You are new to the forum. Are you new to The Villages, Paul?

Yes, I have lived in Schaumburg since 1994. And since I didn't win the Powerball jackpot of $320 million yesterday, and I had to spent $1,800 on dental work this week, I won't be buying in TV this year

As far as the documentary, 2016 Obama's America -- it is playing at the AMC theater about 15 minutes from my home. If anyone wants to fly to O'Hare, I will pick you up and we can go see the movie together. And I will watch you eat the expensive movie popcorn that I cannot eat as I had a tooth pulled on Thursday, and will be getting a dental implant in about 6 months from now so it will probably be awhile until I can eat popcorn again. Probably too much information. TGIF.

Bogie - we may be waiting a while to hear from the OP. I don't see her listed as a member under "Community" today, unless I am not browsing correctly.

I'd assume that's the case. I think HB enjoyed expressing her political views, so perhaps she has moved on to a Political Forum somewhere else.
