Thumbs up The Banshees of Inisherin. (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

The Banshees of Inisherin - Rotten Tomatoes

Definitely not for everyone but find it very good so far. I missed some of the in-jokes on Saturday Night Live a few weeks ago when they had two of this movies stars on the show. Brendan Gleeson - Rotten Tomatoes was the host and Colin Farrell showed up as well.

My mother's family came from England around 1660-1670 to Massachusetts and some Irish and Scotch ancestors added branches. This movie is set on an imaginary island off the Irish coast in 1923 during the Irish Civil War. Irish Civil War - Wikipedia

I finished watching it. It was filmed as far as I can tell in Mayo County, Ireland. The most comprehensive website on Co Mayo West of Ireland * mayo-ireland.ie

Blooper Reel (this one is a spoiler for sure): In one of the last scenes on the beach, the camera shows Brendon Gleeson's hand to have all his fingers. Anybody catch this error?

I missed that......fingers grew back. I can say that Banshees was an excellent movie. In fact, I can say that it was almost TOO good - it got very CRINGEWORTHY toward the end. It was making my skin crawl.....not your basic happy ending "and they lived happily ever after". But, realism and putting you back in time, it had that in spades. Both actors are in a lot of movies and are NOT worried about being over-exposed. I have liked Colin Ferrell in every movie that I have seen him in and he is not afraid to take on roles in small pictures. I believe that Ferrell is somewhat underrated. I am thinking about a film that I especially liked," After Yang" which was a SCI / Fi movie with a minimum of special future effects.......just a a good story with good acting.

I'd like to add a couple of more movies. "Deadwood, the Movie" is a very good western and is very true to the old TV series. "The English" is a superb, great, fantastic, and more superlatives, of a Western movie that has great plot, acting, mega-ACTION, reality, and surprises. It TRANSFORMS you into the 1990s WEST after the Civil War, but WAY before civilization can blunt the raw emotions of hate, self-preservation, greed, prejudice, and infrequently..... love. It has the feel of a movie like "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, but with greater sophistication of cinema evolution since that time. I recommend it to everyone!
