You don’t have to feel sorry for me ,I live very well and am always a happy guy. I do know that after spending 40 years of my life around the world watching people do the worst things that they can do to each other , many of them in the name of God , I tend to think there’s nothing there and if there is something well his plan is not working very well .

Human attempted grasp of the divine has caused many wars. That does not mean we have ever come close to understanding God's plans.

As a child, I first saw "March of the Wooden Soldiers" with Laurel and Hardy. It is now a Christmas time favorite of mine.

I get it. Life is a timeshare. New, fresh and exciting when you first get here. Some enjoy what they got, others, not so much. The facilities age over time and require fixing up and painting. That seems to work for awhile, until the whole structure just collapses. Cancel the contract? No way! No one gets out alive.
Enjoy it while you can. Happy Hols! 🎄🎁🎅

OMG! March of the Wooden Soldiers. One of my earliest Christmas memories. Thanks for the bringing back the memory.

I think a lot of it has to do with promises of great things happening if you behave in the timeshare or do the bidding of those who claim to know what lies ahead.

For Christmas -- coal or presents.

I do love A Christmas Carol's take on things with a Christmas past, present and to be. Many good movies derive from Charles Dickens great story.

Die Hard is one of my favorite action movies. Remember seeing it with a U of MN Law Class of 1989 "friend" back then in the Summer of 1988.

I have seen it probably every year since about once or more.

And love most of the Die Hard sequels except the one set in Russia. Talk about a serving of turkey.

But as for getting at the meaning of Christmas, Die Hard has very little to do with it.

lets compare your selection of home alone to die hard.
Both the heroes are confronted by felonious criminals caught in the middle of multiple felonies while committing a crime. Whereas bruce is the victim of attempted murders cc is the victim of kidnapping, remember hanging on the hook and multiple assault charges including negligent attemted homicide as he risks his life escaping the multiple threats. The fact that he is a minor in his own home compounds all the felonies. And finally they both had many sequels
different movies ? Just a matter of what type your favorite drink is

Default The Ref

My husband and I must be unusual because the movie we watch for Christmas every year is not on this list. The Ref is a great movie if you can overlook some strong language here and there. Highly recommend. Merry Christmas!
