Yeah... that one is right up there with the likes of:
"Here's lookin' at you, kid."
"You talkin' to me?"
"I coulda been a contender."
"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."

When I read your post, that song popped into my head……[It creeps and leaps and slides and glides across the floor, right through the door and all around the wall, etc.

But I did not know until this morning that Burt Bacharach wrote that song.

I also learned from another post here that Peter Graves was Mr. Dillon’s brother.

Monday morning — and I have already learned two new things.

Btw, am I remembering right that there was something in The Blob about trying to fry it with high tension wires or some kind of big electrical thing?

Of all the old scary movies, the werewolves scared me most of all — and they were always jumping out from behind trees or something to add the startle effect. I once spent an entire werewolf movie with my coat over my head.

The Giant Claw is about a giant bird from outer space which comes from the North Pole and invades the U.S. and Canada. Our fighter planes attack it, but The Giant Claw gobbles them up. Just like the current invaders from China, it terrorizes everyone in the U.S.

As you can see in this preview, the special effects are first rate.

Ouch. Never heard of this, so watched the trailer. What a terrible hokey piece of "don't waste my time". Sorry, man!

War of the Worlds (1953), Creature from the Black Lagoon and Them(1954) were 3 faves and scariest. Of course being 10 and 11 years old were part of the equation.

Yeah, you are exactly right! As we have gotten older, we have lost some of our ability to be fascinated with things like monster movies. That's why we love to think back to those days.

The Creature from Black lagoon was filmed up at Silver Springs. On the glass-bottom boat tour, they point out the exact cave where the creature lived when they filmed the movie.

In Them, the giant ants found a home in the drainage canals under Los Angeles. When they filmed the car race scene between Danny and 'Crater Face' in Grease, I was hoping one of the giant ants would jump out and grab one of them, but definitely not the beautiful Sandy.

Maybe I take these movies too seriously.

@ 1 of the horror conventions i've been to, i met the actor who does the underwater scenes from Creature/BlackLagoon. his name is Ricu Browning, and what a cool guy he is! we talked almost 45minutes, & he explained he was an expert diver, from either Russia or Ukraine, & had so many stories to tell about being on the set. i think he's still alive.

Can't remember the name of this black and white 1950s B movie but it involves a couple going to a town where giant spiders were living in the cave and at the end they fought the giant spiders with electrical devices from the power lines
