Doubt if this is playing any where close to the Villages at the moment. The lack of academic freedom and expression has often astounded me in academia. There are cliques in this too which seem to hold a lot of sway over what gets done and what does not.

Have not seen the movie yet but studied the history and philosophy of science for a number of years. Politics and economics plays a very large role in scientific discovery and how this is treated.

Read the book A Beautiful Mind about antisemitism in academia if you think this is a new thing depicted in the movie Expelled.

Expelled -- Excellent. Beautiful Mind was as well, however, Expelled is so much more. Good to finally get something in the box office worth seeing.
