Nope not at all an obsession, just being honest about a person who was an actor & took advantage of the gullible people who put him on a Pedistol and became obsessed with him which in turn made him believe that he was to those who put him there as a " HERO " .

Seems so "American"? Not sure what that really means? Most folks I have known in my life seemed American to me. They came in all ages, colors, ethnic backgrounds, economic situations, religious beliefs, educational opportunities and lifestyles.

Not sure if race , sex or religion have anything to do with it. He is in movies aimed mainly at audiences in the USA from the 1930s to the 1970s. You have the same type of heroic characters in pretty much every culture who have characteristics aimed for those audiences. And then there are sub cultures.
