Happy Birthday this August 14, 2025 to Doc Holliday.

Val Kilmer's embodiment of Dr. Holliday comes quickly to mind in Tombstone .
Val Kilmer. He basically stole that movie.

Nope not at all an obsession, just being honest about a person who was an actor & took advantage of the gullible people who put him on a Pedistol and became obsessed with him which in turn made him believe that he was to those who put him there as a " HERO " .
Hence he actually believed it.
The real Hero ? Audi Murphy & others who were actors were the real hero's, Clark Gable, Charles Bronson & many others.

Not sure if race , sex or religion have anything to do with it. He is in movies aimed mainly at audiences in the USA from the 1930s to the 1970s. You have the same type of heroic characters in pretty much every culture who have characteristics aimed for those audiences. And then there are sub cultures.

Default Unsung heroes

Many heroes like Boston Red Sox player ted williams one of baseballs greatest players ever ( i'm a yankee fan) who lost 5 years of his career not to mention risked his life as a marine pilot serving in ww2 and korea flying 40 combat missions.

Even though he was notoriously difficult to work with back then, I have to give it to Val.
