I saw that with my mother in Petaluma when it came out. Some of it had been filmed in that area of California and I believe that the movie trailers from it had been parked at the Red Lion Inn in Rohnert Park back then. The Red Lion Inn must have given the people from Hollywood some good deals as there were often movie trailers across the green from our house. You could see them a few hundred feet from our back door.

Never saw any name people out there though and if I had run into people we only talked about the state of the golf course which was often covered in goose poop. Or poop from some large bird.

Hoffman and crew could have stayed at the Red Lion but I do not know if they actually did. I did hear that Sylvester Stallone sneaked into the Red Lion Inn wearing a nun's habit when he was involved with starring in Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot - Wikipedia.

My parents went to see the Stallone movie and thought it was one of the worst films that had ever seen.
