Default Favorite Ernest Borgnine film?

Ernest Borgnine | Rotten Tomatoes

Looks like some of his best movies were in the 1950s and 1969s.

Being a McHale's Navy fan, I see him in a movie and I can't get into it,
. I don't see the character, I see McHale.

Great character actor. His best was probably Marty, but I always remember him as "Fatso" in From Here To Eternity.

I frequently associate him with The Wild Bunch. Kind of hard to see Marty though in that one.

Don't much recall seeing him on the silver screen, but I did enjoy McHale's Navy.

Marty, without a doubt. He won an Oscar for Best Actor and was very believable as a butcher.

One of his earliest roles was in "Whistle at Eaton Falls" (1951)
It also has a young Lloyd Bridges starring in it.
This was partially filmed in Dover, New Hampshire (my home town) and also in Exeter New hampshire.
The film has recently been restored but is not available for streaming.
I have it posted privately online. PM me if you want a link to it.
