I must be in the minority here, I think of it as a Charles Bronson movie.

The Big Red 1

My mom would have said Paint Your Wagon. I have to say a love story musical about the gold rush with Lee Marvin and Cli t Eastwood is interesting to watch.

I came to The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance late in life even though I am a big John Wayne fan. It took Jimmy Buffett bringing it up in the lyrics of Incommunicado for me to go looking for it. It is a great movie.

James Taylor also covered the 1962 Gene Pitney song. Written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David.

Default Donovan Reef

Lots of great Lee Marvin movies but one of my favorites is Donovan's Reef with John Wayne. A fun movie.

The Dirty Dozen gets honorable mention, but The Man who Shot Liberty Valance was, in the words of Gene Pitney, "the greatest of them all."
