We saw a total of TWO of these movies. We’re totally fine with that and feel we missed nothing. And like all Awards shows will plan to miss this one too. Over the years these have become a “look at me, I’m a celebrity - and my views are important so listen to me.

Probably saw about a dozen of the various OSCAR nominated movies.

Oscar nominations 2023: See the full list of nominees | CNN

I am up to the part where the Jamie Lee Curtis character comes in for the Everything Everywhere All at Once film but will get back to it.

Did probably see Top Gun: Maverick two times in the theater and two times on digital. Great movie!!

Could not see a film there I would pay to watch, and there is no way I would waste electricity watching the Oscars, and listen to a load of "I want to thank the world" BS.
Back to my book!

Got tired listening to a bunch of pompous jerks tell the world what they think of world affairs.

Default Award shows are political statements

Who cares? When these shows go back to being entertainment maybe the extremely low viewing audience will get a few more watchers.

Used to love watching the Oscars, but I don't see many films at the theaters anymore. Top Gun and Elvis were very good, but like others, I am tired of all the political statements at the show, so I will probably skip it.

I love the Oscars. My favorite time of year. So many movies to watch in time for the March 12th ceremony. Getting that popcorn ready!

Respectfully, who cares what the motion picture industry populace thinks of themselves?

I usually only watch parts of it especially when they announce Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Picture.

We were not too far from Lucas Films when we lived in Rohnert Park, CA. Lucasfilm Ltd. | Lucasfilm.com And movie production trailers would often be parked at the Red Lion Inn in Rohnert Park just across the fairway from us when my parents lived bordering the golf course in Rohnert Park, CA. They would be preparing to go to locations in Sonoma, Napa and Marin Counties to make films. The trailers were usually only a few hundred feet from us out our back door.
