Fantastic movie. Edge of seat type. Could not take my eyes off the screen for one second. Went with a group of friends and we all loved it and it gave us even more appreciation for our brave military and all they do to sacrifice for our country. Every American should see this and bring their kids too to teach them what a real hero is. Bravo for a fine movie and actors who portrayed these guys perfectly. Now on to the book! PS I must add though it did make us angry being told to stand down and let Americans die. A must see true to life story

I saw the 3 men who were actually there (wounded besides...at least 2 of them)in an interview. They were saying the movie NEEDS to be seen for the facts to get out, that weren't portrayed to the public by our "esteemed" government officials at the time.

I haven't seen the movie...yet! It sickens me to think that Americans were pleading for help and none would come. The one thing these men did say re: that is they were working for a private security business AND if they'd been actually in the military their leader would have over-run that "stand down" order.

I'm guessing they made the movie because they knew it would make money!!

I have seen "13 Hours" (as well as having read the book) and highly recommend that all see it. I believe the story, as presented by the three (of the six) men who were actually there, and who have repeatedly been interviewed on TV. Tonto, one of the three contract men recently spoke at a meeting here in the Villages. The three were an integral part of the making of the movie with their goal to make it as realistic as the actual event itself. They said that the movie depicts very accurately the 13 hours that they actually lived.

It is not unexpected that the CIA operative who gave the "stand down" order has denied that he said it. The CIA, as well as the individual in Washington who was ultimately responsible, also denies any culpability and claims that the three were/are not telling the truth. It is not surprising that those ultimately responsible for having allowed 4 people to needlessly die would deny the truth.

But the truth needs to be told and the truth is shown in the movie.

These guys are not politicians trying to cover there rears or running for any public office. They are simply 3 (out of 6) guys who know that there were four unnecessary deaths and that the truth needs to be known. They were the response team. They lived the horror. They lived the terror of war. They are the ones who saw their buddies die.

Go see the movie and then give your take on TOTV.

Yes the movie was great, mesmerizing , very intense. The absence of American troops saving them is unbelievable. They never came, were ordered to stand down and the few Americans left were rescued by others who cared (our heros). I also forgot to mention people applauded at the end of the movie. Every American should see this!

I recently finished reading "Eyes on Target" by ex Navy SEAL that gave 5 scenarios of very plausible rescue.

Just watched it today. Really liked it. They did not mention any specific politician by name but showed how incompetent government can be sometimes.

i just saw the movie this afternoon and it was excellent. gave a good feel for the size of the city and the area in which this occurred....the soldiers were portrayed as close to life as possible, with much input from the actual heroes. i cannot imagine how the families of the men who were lost, including the ambassador, could watch this film and ever forget what they saw. the audience applauded at my show, too.

Tried to see it yesterday at 12:45 PM but the line was too long for me, so I went down to Barnstorm to see Star Trek: The Force Awakens for the 2nd time.

I will have to wait a while or get the ticket(s) in advance.

Powerful movie that started slowly setting the stage and then came on with a fury as we all sat there mesmerized by the strength of a small group of our soldiers battling an unknown enemy once again having to figure out who the bad guys were. Nobody clapped when it was over but it certainly made for lively conversations over dinner of how this could have happened. Not an F-16 in the air and no help on the way. And now we get to sit back and read how our leaders won't take responsibility for this travesty...........

The only people I believe love war are those who profit from it or those insane.
So those men and women who have served in wars since the forming of our Republic deserve our praise and thanks because they do so to form and henceforth preserve our union.

The producers of this movie were very wise to keep politics out of this story and focus on the events as they actually happened as told by those involved.

Let's hope it sparks more Americans to demand a factual accounting of the why's for the sake of those involved and for all Americans
