Thanks for the link, I won't see it either and will try to avoid Leo's future movies. I'm refusing to further enable people like this to be glorified. Yuck.

I can't figure out why anyone would be surprised at the content. It is a Scorsese movie. He has four movies in the top 50 on the f-word usage list. All are great, but it should be kind of expected that there would be excessive language. Also, it says on the poster what the movie is rated R for... it shouldn't EVER be a surprise.
Seems like if someone is really sensitive about the content of a movie, they really should read up on it before hand. 5 minutes of research would show it has content that some might consider offensive. This way, you don't have to ask for a refund because you didn't do your homework!
Every movie you see is a risk. I've seen many a movie that wasn't worth the ticket, but I've never had the audacity to ask for my money back.

I read the blog, she is mad that, at 18 years old, she used to snort more coke than is in Columbia and drive Range Rovers and have any boy she wanted because daddy flew them in his jet and now daddy is married to a 30 year old eastern European girl. She is ready to release her own memoirs and profit off the lifestyle she supposedly detests. Not sure why this would or would not make me want to see the movie.

Gustavo, if you can't determine from the information the daughter provided as to why she is angry and why she thinks others may not want to subsidize the "person" profiting from this movie; I can't help you there.

As far as the "F" word, I don't think we should ban it. It's ineffective for shock value for the most part, has become very much like, "oh shoot" or "darn". Once it's accepted, the inarticulate people who rely on it so much may need to increase their vocabulary. Now that would be a shocker!

SOME might find offensive...I think half the planet would find DiCaprio snorting cocaine out of some prostitutes butt OFFENSIVE!...We obviously have different taste!....As I've said in an earlier post, the draw for us was DiCaprio, I thought he was selective in his movie choices, obviously NOT! And I for one, do have the audacity to ask for a refund, not wanting to contribute one cent to this filth...Keep in mind, this is MHO!...Oh, and my dime!;)

I go to the movies to be transported beyond my little world. I want to be moved in some way - whether through laughter or tears. I hate overly sentimental "feel good" movies. Give me the grit and guts of real life.

No need to make assumptions about my taste. Actually, I am not going to see it because I took 5 minutes to look into it and can tell that it's not a movie I would enjoy. Google is my friend.

the offensive nature of the movie is not just the f bombing, but the drugs and sex and anything is OK lifestyle.

Yes we all know that happens in real life. However most of us choose to not live such a life style. And real life is not condensed into 3 hours for maximum impact.

Most of us go to movies for adventure, escape, fantasy and fun. None of what is in this movie fills that bill.

It is a thumbs down movie for us.

Bonnevie 12-28-2013 10:48 AM

the user reviews on this movie on Yahoo now average to 2 and 1/2 stars.....glad I waited and chose not to see this with my son...maybe when it comes to redbox I'll check it out.

What does anyone think of the millions that like the movie. It's not in line with topics nor the language used during most Sunday morning church survives, but, it is a snap shot of the world of Wall Street and big business in the world we all live in. If it's not for you, fine, but it is not the holocaust. Don't give yourself an aneurism.

I don't think an aneurysm is indicated if people state they have an objection to the language, seediness of the characters and porn; or the fact that they don't want to feed the monster and pour more money into his pocket. The movie isn't for them and it's that simple!

One might be more concerned about the possibilities of apoplexy in the men viewing the movie for their little porn fix. :evil6:

Another area that people should do a couple of minutes of research on is who makes money from the ticket sales. Belfort sold the rights back in 2011 to Dicaprio. He does not make one more dime because you buy a ticket.
He is also a motivational speaker who gets $30k per appearance. Maybe the ire should be directed at those who pay him for appearances instead of falsely thinking that if you see a movie, you have an effect on his income.
