Default American Idol - New Judges

Do you think that American Idol will still be as popular without Simon Cowell?
New judges confirmed today to be Randy (how does that dawg manage to stay on), Jennie on the Block, and Steven Tyler.

What about Piers Morgan, I thought he was signing on. He can easily fill Simon's shoes.

Cool

Good question about Simon... I had a healthy respect for Simon as someone who knew the music business and what would sell. In probably 90% of the cases, I agreed with his assessments.

Randy is musician in his own rite. Therefore, he has some credibility, in my book.

Jennifer Lopez....well, she knows how to "make it" in the business.

As for Steven Tyler, we're talking about one of the most prolific front men of all time, as the lead singer for Aerosmith. If anyone knows how to give a knockout performance, it's Steven.

It's gonna be an interesting season, that's for sure...

Piers Morgan is taking over Larry King's slot on CNN.

Have no idea how that dawg stays on. He rarely has much of anything to say. Maybe, these new judges will contribute more than some of the other judges in the past? Simon Cowell was the show for me after the initial auditions with the horrible performances that is.

I agree, Tal. Simon Cowell made the show for me. I thought he was insightful and well respected by the performers. It is true that he was sarcastic when bored, but even his unkind comments were usually true.

The viewing audience dropped from 29 million in 2009 to 24 million in 2010. Of course with those numbers, it is still one of the most popular shows on TV. This season should prove to be interesting.
