Default Forte - Set Up To Be Closed Out?

We went to see Varela Unplugged the other night. Very good show...even though Varela had the remnants of a cold. Very entertaining...the talk of his rise...guest singers. No complaints at all.

During the show, Varela announced that Forte would be coming to The Villages, and that to show appreciation to those at the Unplugged show, they would offering a $10 discount for the Forte show if you show your Unplugged ticket at the box office. No early sales and couldn't be online...had to be at the box office when it opened.

A friend of ours was nice enough to stand in line to get tickets. Stood there for a very long time...only to have the Forte show sell out before she got a chance to buy tickets. I know the intentions were good, but are we the only ones to be closed out of the Forte show because we were trying to act on the offer made by Varela at his show? Very unfortunate. Kind of reminds of many political actions...good intentions but results include unintended consequences. Seems like they could have seen this coming and handled it a bit differently.

Oh well. Just wanted to vent a bit.

Polar Bear - A popular show and multiple box office windows around the Villages and on-line ordering - makes it tougher and tougher to get a ticket to a hot show - discount offer or not.

Did the box office put a limit on the number of tix one individual could purchase? If not, that might be a consideratin for the future!

I was online at 8:31 (sales started at 8:30) and the less expensive seats were basically gone or were in such bad locations there was no way. Ended up getting $99 each seats and had to click on "find different seats" before anything decent popped up. I was afraid to keep clicking for fear of losing the ones suggested so I grabbed them. It must have been craziness to try to do it in person!

I too was on line at the beginning and was glad to get two good seats after much clicking. One thing that the early sellout proved is that there is a strong market for high priced tickets for top shows. And Forte fits that description now. Hopefully, there will be more to follow.

I do not know who forte is but I assume that coming to TV means that the performance will be at Savannah Center
