Default First Concert Ever by the new Villages Pops Chorus

Hi everyone. I've always been impressed by the breadth of musical knowledge and tastes among the member of TOTV. I hope many of you will find this latest offering of interest. In January of this year, we started a new chorus in TV called The Villages Pops Chorus. We had anticipated some interest in the group and had hoped for 50 members. Well, the response was overwhelming, and we now have 135 members plus a waiting list of almost 50, and we will be presenting our first ever concert, "The Beat Goes On" on April 22 at North Lake Presbyterian Church at 7PM. The Pops Chorus is dedicated to singing choral arrangements of popular music, anything from the great American standards, to Broadway and Hollywood, to rock! Our first concert will include songs like "The Beat Goes On", "Over the Rainbow", "I've Had the Time of My Life" from "Dirty Dancing", and a medley from "Bye Bye Birdie". We'll even have a beautiful arrangement of a Billy Joel ballad.

The 135 members come from a wide variety of music backgrounds, and includes current and past member of The Village Voices, The Villages Christian Choral, and The Belle Chords, among other groups. We also have some of the better known names among performers in TV in our group, including John Rogerson, Billie Thatcher, Sue Schuler, Carolyn Hoffman, and Joel Heckman to name just a few. It's a very impressive group, we hope you will agree.

Tickets are on sale now through the Villages Box Office at just $12 each. We hope you will come and support your friends and neighbors in this new chorus. We also plan concerts in late August and December. Thanks and we hope to see you there!
