Default Jukebox Songs

When we were younger, jukboxes were very popular.

What was your favorite jukebox song?

Mine was "I Can't Get Started" by Bunny Bennigan.

I have my own juke box in my den. It holds 100 45's. The most played song (The juke box keeps tabs on how much a song was played) are Imagine, We Got Tonight and Roy Orbison's "Crying".

We had an old jukebox in our basement that played 78 RPM records. We played it and skated around the basement. My favorite was "Happy, Happy Birthday Baby".

The songs you would paly at a bar, pizza store or whatever would depend on the circumstance. Maybe if you were with your honey, you might play a song that meant something to the both of you...for instance your wedding song, or a song that was playing when you got to know each other better.

If I just went to a bar and decided to play something I'd look for something like Meast Loaf's "Paradise by The Dashboard Light."

Speaking of La Bamba what a great flip side it had with "Donna."

In the pre- Beatle era most songs had throw away flip sides but Richie Valens double sided song was a a rarity.

The beginning of musical history as most of us know it.

Italian National Athem - "My Way" by Sinatra. I must have heard it a thousand times in the old neighborhood.

I heard "Crazy" by Patsy Cline was a very popular jukebox song.

I remember hearing it in TV and falling in love with it again.

I remember when I spent summers in Virginia Beach with my parents, the songs frequently played on jukeboxes were The Tennessee Waltz or Your Cheating Heart. And, yes, I am a redneck...lol
