Johnny Wild and Surfin' Bird
It's hard to believe, but Johnny Wild and the Delights have added the Trashmen's 1963 hit Surfin' Bird to their repetoire (also known as Papa Oo Mow Mow). Drummer Randy Cool puts out an exceptional performance and clearly has a lot of fun on this one.
I don't think it's possible to be still during the song, but I doubt the line dancers will ever try to tackle it. After the tune starts and the initial shock wears off, the crowd moves around like it's 1963. Or if you're a punker or former punker, you're likely to pogo like it's 1977 in honor of the Ramones. Just amazing stuff for our Villages. I bet the Spazmatics wish they had thought of doing it first. Check out the videos of the original and the Ramones cover and get an idea of how some local bands are making the Villages the coolest place on the planet: Surfin' Bird - The Trashmen 1963 {Stereo} - YouTube RAMONES - Surfin' Bird - YouTube
