Default One Hit Wonders

What's your pick for the most obscure tune by an artist with only one charted hit?

How about "She's Not Just Another Woman" by The Eighth Day?

My first thought was something from the '80s since that decade was riddled with them (and Funkytown is still my close second), but I'd have to go with:

Sugar, Sugar by The Archies

BTW, Wikipedia has an exhaustive list (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._United_States) and it's fun to scroll through and reminisce. I'm not sure I agree with their definition, though. For me, a OHW comes out of obscurity, produces a single hit, and then vanishes from the scene. Devo does not meet that criteria for me, but Whip It makes their list. Anyway, fun topic, thanks for bringing it up.

Not sure about the most obscure one, but the most well known might be Get a Job by the Silhouettes.

I saw a website on this subject a while ago. The criterion there was that the song had to have made the top ten. Otherwise any obscure record that was made could be counted.

Well, that eliminates "That Thing You Do" by the Wonders (get it, one hit wonders) from consideration as it only went to #41.

Then I will go with "Take On Me" by a-ha. There is such a memorable video to go with it. It may be the best ever, or at least my second favorite.

Whenever I think of a OHW, it's Johnathan King and "Everyones gone to the Moon."
