Default Villages Pops Chorus Spring Concert April 8 & 9

Hi everyone! Here's the info on our upcoming concert. We hope many of you will come and see us. Thanks!

Bill

The Villages Pops Chorus begins its third year with an exciting concert titled “On With the Show, This Is It”. There will be two performances on April 8 and April 9, both at 7:00 PM at North Lake Presbyterian Church. Accompanied by pianist Jo Ann Hanebrink and an eleven piece band, the group will perform a variety of popular music, including “Something’s Gotta Give”, “The Shadow of Your Smile”, “Someone to Watch Over Me”, “Teenager In Love”, and a fun medley called “We Love the 60’s”. The women in the group will sing a sultry arrangement of “Whatever Lola Wants”, and the men will sing a medley reminiscent of the great male quartets of the late 50’s and early 60’s called “Crazy ‘Bout Croonin’”, including “Three Coins In a Fountain”, “Crazy ‘Bout Ya Baby”, and “Shangri La”. From beautiful ballads to songs that will have you tapping your feet, The Villages Pops Chorus promises a wonderful and unique concert. Tickets available at all Villages Box Office locations and online, general admission $12 each. The Villages Pops Chorus is a 501c3 charitable organization and has donated $20,000 to charities over the last 2 years. Part of the proceeds from these concerts will be donated to The American Cancer Society Cancer Resource Center in The Villages, and to Tutors For Kids.

My name is Gary Beveridge and I'm new to the Villages. My wife and I are not full time residents but I play in Dance Band and Community Band in Roanoke, VA. Looking to sit in sometime while I am here. I play 1st part Trumpet in both bands. Let me know when you practice. Thanks! Gary

Hi Gary. We only practice with our band a couple times before each concert, and the copies of music we have is limited to the band members. Sorry we can't help. You are welcome to stop in and listen to our rehearsals anytime you would like, however. The chorus rehearses at Bridegport Rec Center Saturday afternoons. We will resume rehearsals on April 30 after our concerts this weekend. Hope you are able to find a place to play. Have you checked out the Bands of the Villages section in the Rec News?

B.
