Default 5 favorite bands

I'm one of those who have to answer in 2 ways. Depends on what music I happen to be into at the time. Before I started to play rock music, I played quite a bit of folk, so that's what my lists would look like. I'm also just listing bands, because if we included solo acts, the list would be much longer. So here we go:

Rock:
1. Beatles
2. Beach Boys
3. Eagles
4. Blood Sweat and Tears
5. Crosby Stills and Nash (and Young)

Folk:
1. Peter Paul and Mary
2. Brothers Four
3. Kingston Trio
4. New Christy Minstrels
5. Limelighters

Seen Bette Midler, Eric Clapton and band, Styx, Yes, BB King, Billy Joel with then (1984) girlfriend Christie Brinkley in concert. She just walked around Joel a little bit when he sang Uptown Girl.

BB King and Eric Clapton were extremely good and would make my Top 5 musical groups. The Police, the Rolling Stones, and Chicago would probably be my list.

Too many groups really to narrow this down very easily.

1) The Beatles (of course)
2) The Hollies (Allan Clarke was untouochable on vocals)
3) The Byrds (first five albums)
4) The Rascals (P**s poor crowd for Felix at the Savannah Center)
5) The Spoonful (and Sebastian as a solo act)

All five in the R&R Hall of Fame!

I agree. A ****poor crowd at The Savannah Center...for both shows. Felix was great and didn't deserve the humiliation. Through it all he gave a great performance and smiled throughout. Hey, what did you think of his version of "How Can I Be Sure?" Eddie sang the original but I'd bet 90% of the audience didn't know the difference. A great show. A shame so many people missed out.

Hey Bill. Does your band do any BS&T with only three guitars? How are things going with the band? I'll be back in January. Keep me posted on where you are playing.

OOPS - How could I forget?

In addition to my other favorite bands, I MUST add CCR and Santana.

Right! During "How Can I Be Sure" I had to keep reminding myself that Eddie sang lead on that one. It does make me wondeer how many shows are not playing the Savannah Center because of the poor attendence for Fexlx. There was a better crowd for the Association, and they stunk up the place.

Hey Tommy. We are very busy! 6 gigs in December (Cody's Evans Prairie and Bonifay). Nothing in January yet but will let you know. You can keep track of us on the 3 For The Road Facebook page. No, haven't added any BS&T songs yet, but don't be surprised! Our lead player Gary has a guitar synthisizer that can sound like a horn section, so watch out! Actually working on "I Feel Good" as a possible add in with the brass sound!

By James Brown? That will sound interesting. Good luck. Catch up with you early next year. Maybe I can bring Captain John with me. He is interested in seeing/hearing the band

I agree with you. I actually sent Felix an apology via Facebook and asked him to return. I felt, the lack of advertising and the way Felix was advertised didn't do him justice. Okay, nuts like you and I know every band member of every band, but I'd guess 70% of the average public know The Rascals/ Young Rascals as a group and don't know who "Felix" is. Or Eddie, or Gene or Dino.

Everybody knows who John, Paul, George and Ringo are but most people don't know the band members of other groups.

Don't forget The Lovin' Spoonful selling out also. How can there even be a Lovin' Spoonful without John Sebastian?
