Too young indeed..
Grew up in SoCal. Watched Van Halen as they started out. Saw several of their shows at small venues in my high school years.

Just watched a show on Reelz the other night on Van Halen and their years with David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar; good show.

Default EVH/Alex Lifeson

Eddie Van Halen was ranked the best guitarist by Rolling Stone magazine back in the day. An interviewer asked him how it felt to be the best. His response was "I don't know, you should ask Alex Lifeson". Never a truer statement has been made. He was good but could never pull off a Rush guitar lick. RIP

R.I.P. This really means that we’re getting old. He did smoke like a chimney. He also made great music.

Hubby grew up in Southern California thought he was the greatest. Love and peace, Eddie.

Bummer, way to young, RIP. I will nominate Ice Cream Man as my favorite VH tune.

I met EVH once, and saw him perform multiple times from front row center seats. He played Eruption 3' from me. Amazing guitarist and song writer. Always had a smile on his face and seemed like he loved what he was doing. IMHO, he was the greatest ever. Godspeed Eddie.

Added my favorite Van Halen tune here, scroll down, middle of page.

JIC you are wondering, I am still awaiting a club charter from Villages Rec. Can you say COVID?

I'll never forget the first time I heard Van Halen, I was 13 and "You Really Got Me" came on the radio. I was never the same.

Thank you for the great music. RIP Eddie.

Generally, throat cancer is caused by the herpes virus. All those ladies he enjoyed - at least one gave him the infection when he performed oral. It’s not unusual, unfortunately.
