Having spent most the 60's in the Bronx and Yonkers, it was either WABC with Scott Muni, Dan Ingram etc or (and I'm surprised nobodies mentioned this one) WMCA with Joe O'Brien, Harry Harrison, Jack Spector and my favorite B. Mitchel Reed. Hey Scooter!
Somewhere along the line I started listening to Jean Shepherd on WOR in the evening (hundreds of his shows on line).
Walt.

What a great thread! Some people mentioned WKBW in Buffalo. Does anyone remember the Halloween night when they broadcast their own version of "The War of the Worlds"? They did it using local landmarks and such. Even on Long Island i picked up the big KB at night and I managed to catch that sensational Halloween broadcast. I've forgotten what year it was. Sometime in the '70s I would guess.

I remember how cool it sounded when I added one speaker in the rear connected to a Reverberator. It still wasn't stereo, but who cared?!?

tpop1-- WOWO broadcast the Komets. They were in the International Hockey League, at that time. Bob Chase was the announcer and may still be. He was still, a few years ago. I, also, listened to Hillard Gates who broadcast the Ft. Wayne Zollner Pistons on WKJG.

CKLW was in Windsor Ontario, Canada. WXYZ, the home of The Lone Ranger and The Green Hornet, also rocked with Lee Allen.
