Default Jeopardy

Anybody watching Matt Jackson on Jeopardy?

This young man is SMART! Been on ther for 12 days so far and won 390k.
I don't see him getting bet any time soon.

Got ways to go to catch Ken Jennings which won 74 games.

My older brother who was visiting from DC said that he is a minor celebrity there already. Matt Jackson is very well connected. He is quite smart and fast on the button, too.

Brilliant.........but they have made fun of his smile on The Today show.

His smile is hard to describe and kind of ........ A little spooky.

'''Jeopardy!''' contestant Matt Jackson'''s smile, attitude is obsessing the Internet - TODAY.com

Default Jeopardy winner rankings!

'Jeopardy!' Star Matt Jackson Breaks Tie With Arthur Chu; How Good Is He? Only Ken Jennings, Julia Collins, David Madden Have Won More Consecutive Games

He is the son of a Federal Judge. That usually opens a lot of doors for offspring.

He does seem to have some brilliant people in his gene pool. And he does not get nervous on TV.

I wish he would lose so he'd be in the champions tournament this year instead of next year

When is the cut-off point?

Anyone try playing the Jeopardy qualifying Quiz online? I tried a few years ago but the computer did not co-operate and I could not get on for some reason. I have never been all the good thinking on my feet.

Thank you Topspinmo, for letting us know about this. I had not watched Jeopardy lately. Now, I am.

I wonder if that guy has an eidetic memory like Sheldon on Big Bang Theory or like Marilu Henner has -- for real.

By the way, does anyone know if Jeopardy contestants who lose the game get to keep the money won in the individual rounds?

I think the answer is that they get nothing but I am not sure.

I guess it might have to be that way because otherwise, it would affect what they are willing to bet and could skew the competition factor.

(I cannot remember which game show it was that gave the losers a case of Turtle Wax. TURTLE WAX??? -- I always thought that was wrong on so many levels, so passive-aggressive.)

Anyway, what do Jeopardy losers get now? (If you have the answer, you do not have to put it in the form of a question. I just want to know.)

JBoard.tv

This seems to answer it. They have set amounts of $2000 and $1000 for the 2nd and 3rd winners, respectively.

Second place gets $2,000, third $1,000. Way back when, at least when Art Fleming was host and, I believe, when it re- started with Alex, everyone took home their winnings. Thought that was a little more interesting. But I still miss the five game max win. I think it is too daunting to go up against a Jennings or a Julia or a Chu or Matt after they've won so many games.

You can't be in the champions tournament if you played the week before it. I'd love to see this kid beat Jennings' 74 game streak but I don't want to wait another year to see him play.

It is going to be fun to see Matt vs. Ken in the near future. I think Matt will wipe the floor against Arthur or Julia. Not so sure how he will do against the guy who won the tournament of champions last year.

(Do you get the feeling I REALLY love that show?)
