lol! I remember an old Andrew Zimmern show where he was touring some kind of food-processing plant. He made the point that now and again you encounter people at these places that you never expect to see, "like Lorena Bobbitt over there", and pointed to a woman chopping sausage with a cleaver.

One thing that the show did leave us with is the psychological concept of the "Eddie Haskell personality". I'm sure we've all encountered a few of them.

The majority of the population in this country were not living like the Cleavers or Father Knows Best, financially or morally.
The major issue every week on these shows was how Eddie Haskell would treat the Beaver or what dress Betty would be wearing to the dance.
I'm not putting down these shows, just highlighting TV was not portraying reality.
In those days TV was delivering what the people want their lives to be or were restricted by censorship.
I prefer some of the shows today that comes a bit closer to true life.

Leave it to Beaver ran mostly before I was born, but I watched it daily in reruns after school growing up in the 70s. Easily in my top ten of all-time favorites TV shows. I have the complete series on DVD.
