I read some of the massive Masters of the Air book by Donald L. Miller. This series is a very good addition to the Band of Brothers and The Pacific productions about WWII.

I hope the book is better than the movie.. in my opinion the movie doesn't come close to band of brothers or the pacific

The book is very academically inclined. Not much on individuals but a lot on military strategy and tactics.
