Default Scam Email from TOTV

I recently placed a few items in the classified ads here on the website.

This morning I had an email from TOTV with the classified logo etc. It was from someone "inquiring" about one one of my items.

The email showed the first name, last name, and email address of the sender.

I sent him an email back with the information he requested.

Within a few minutes I had a reply to my email address with the "I'll send you a money order and have a shipping co pick it up" scam.

Now, I do not know if the person who's name was on the original message to me is the scammer, or if his sign in has been hacked.

I wanted to give the complete information to an administrator so that his sign in can be checked out.

Can an administrator contact me please?

Send this information on to Admin in a PM.

I do not know if a PM keeps all of the email header info, here is the direct email to admin:
TalkOfTheVillages <talkofthevillages@gmail.com>
FORWARD the suspect email to the admin, they should be able to go through the header and see what is going on.

Hope this helps.

I wonder if this is in any way connected to the problem Polar Bear had where someone somehow got into his original post and changed it?

I was wondering the same thing. The person must have had a sign on in order to contact me via TOTV. So something is very wrong.

I sent an email to Admininstrator at talkofthevillages@gmail.com, with copies of the emails I received and my reply.

Those were sent yesterday with no response thus far.

I feel that the scammer has hacked into a TOTV account and is using it for these scam offers for items listed on the classified. Or the scammer is a member, which of course, I hope is not the case.
