Default Driving south of TV to Turnpike

Leaving TV from north of 44 I typically go down Morse Blvd to Everglades Rec Center, turn on Marsh Bend Trail, then to 470 to pick up Turnpike going south. Is that still the best way to go? Or am I better off following Morse onto Meggison and then taking Meggison all the way to 470 and turn right to pick up the Turnpike?

Have not traveled this route recently and will be headed to MCO early in the morning next week.

Thanks in advance.

I do not live in that area, but I recall there being some road construction, I wish I could remember the details. If there is, your option would be to take 44 to 301 south, to Florida Turnpike (toll road).

Take your pick. According to Google maps the Marsh Bend Trail route is about a minute shorter than the Meggison route. I live near Sawgrass Grove so it's a few minutes faster for me to take Meggison.

I just went to MCO and back on Monday. I went down Meggison to 470 to the Turnpike, coming back went up to 301 exit to 44. Seems quicker to get on the Turnpike off 301 than winding down Meggison to 470

MBT and Central Parkway are open, travel time is about the same as before.

Added benefit is to see all the construction progress.

From Hillsborough (north of 44 near Eisenhower) it is definitely faster to take 301 to the turnpike. The distance to the 470 entrance might be the same but you trade 10 miles of 70mph turnpike for 10 miles of Villages roads and roundabouts.

Others have noted that the tradeoff is different if you live near Morse. The shorter distance down Meggison and the traffic on 44 can make the Meggison route faster.

If you are north of 44, it is probably easier to take 44 to 301 and get on the turnpike in Wildwood.

If you are south of warm springs and NE of the Turnpike, Meggison to 470 is better. South of warm springs and SW of the Turnpike, take marsh bend to 470.

If you live between 44 and warm springs, it is pretty much a toss up depending on whether you are closer to 44 or warm springs.

What does Google or your phone tell you. Dpeending on how far north your are, it might be faster to take something else to get to 470 or the next entrance at 27....

I live in Pine Hills (near Belle Glade CC) so on far East side of TV. I know in the past it was longer (both in miles and time) to take 301 than the 470 exit. Maybe with the reconfigured Central pkway it changes things.

I live closer to Buena Vista. I tried Meggison a month or so ago. Pretty much a straight shot but a lot of 30mph zones, roundabouts, and a few gates slowed things down. 70mph up the turnpike then 45-55mph along 44 was faster for me.

I would have thought that would be the same for you but I guess not. I will go back and reword my post.

Google maps from Rohan Rec Center
1) Staying on Morse to Meggison to FL Turnpike south entrance: 15 minutes & 8.3 miles.
2) Morse to Warm Springs & left on Marsh Bend Trail to 470 & Fl Turnpike south entrance: 23 minutes & 16.6 miles.
From Colony Rec Center
3) 466A to 301 to Fl Turnpike down to Fl Turnpike south entrance: 22 minutes & 16.5 miles plus tolls.
Another consideration is taking US Highway 27 toward Clermont. It's a nice drive.

Do either one. I live in Spanish Springs and do both Meggison Rd to 470 and do 301 to the turnpike. Sometimes the change of pace is better than the little distance between the two.

Depending on traffic, there is about a 15 minute difference getting to the turnpike via US 27 vs
going across 44 to 301. The plus to driving on US 27 is that you get to pass Donut King just before 44.

I drive the turnpike at least once a week. My favored route is Buena Vista to 44A (first rotary after Eisenhower rec center), right onto 44A to the traffic light, left onto Powell Rd to traffic light. At traffic light, turn right on to 44. At next light, turn left onto 301, stay on the left to enter turnpike.

I use the same route to get onto the turnpike northbound to get onto I-75. Same route as above except stay on the right after turning onto 301.

Default Current google map

From my house, near Seabreeze.
Wildwood, 301, turnpike is the fastest way to the airport. 8 minutes faster than any other way. Of course this can change at any time
