When taking a long cruise - and you want to drive your car - where do you park? I don't think the village shuttle goes to Miami and want an alternative to cruise connection. I have heard people say you can stay in a hotel - leave your car - is that safe?

We've done it twice with no problems. Once in Tampa and once in Miami, both for a week.

Be careful with hotel lots, not a safety concern, just be aware that most or all only transport from hotel to pier, not the other way. So you will need a cab to get back to the hotel.

We are going on a cruise out of Port of Miami in Feb. We are from S. Fl. (Born & raised). So we are parking our car at son's home in Hallandale & either calling Uber or having the kid take us down. It's about 14 miles or 30 minutes. If you stay at a hotel the night before I would recommend the Courtyard Marriott in Fort Lauderdale on Gulfstream Way. And call Uber. That is probably about 22 miles. I don't know how much it is to park at The Port of Miami. But if you can find a good deal on a major hotel in Miami that has a shuttle that would be a good thing.

Have used this service in Ft Lauderdale. Shuttle to pier very busy, at 11-1. Hotel called in additional transportation. Same getting off ship. Other option is drive to Orlando, and fly to Miami.

We stayed at the Hyatt near Doral CC last year for a transatlantic.
Stayed the night before and got a shuttle ($ 10PP) to the port . Flew back to the airport from London and were picked up by the hotel, stayed the night, and drove home. No charge for 21 days parking almost paid for the rooms. Boston Market and other restaurants 5 min. walk. Miami does not have good off premises parking like Ft. Lauderdale. |
