Default Cell Phone Lot

Does anybody know about the cell phone parking lot at OIA. Since you can't park and wait in front of the trerminal, I've heard there is a special lot where you can park and wait for arriving flights without having to wait and pay in the regular lot or garage.

I use it all of the time. It works very well. Just a parking lot in a field with porta potties.....

It is on the main road in the airportsouth of the terminals.

That lot is a little out of the way and hard to find. What we've done is pull into one of the many commercial establishments on State Rd 436 (leads into the airport) and wait there for the call. You can still be at the airport in less than 5 minutes. There's a TGI Fridays very close by...and, if you have time to kill, you can wait inside and have a snack or beverage in the A/C.

The cell phone lot is very easy to find...follow the signs to the South Exit and you'll see several signs pointing the way.
It's free and it takes just four minutes to get to the arrival level (same as baggage claim -- tell your people to walk out the door at the baggage level).
There are portajohns at the lot.

Even better yet is to use your sunpass and park in the indoor express parking below the arrival terminal. You park in a well lighted indoor area, exit the car, take the elevator up two floors and you are at the arrival gate.

It's wonderful. We use it all the time. Only caution is to have no boxes, packages or suitcases in the car. They won't let you in.

I mean, the express pickup option is nothing short of wonderful. I don't know why everybody doesn't use it.

Cost

$1 per 30 minutes up to 2 hours, then
$5 per hour (or any part thereof)

Payment E-PASS SunPass PlusONLY
Use Short-term parking
Conditions: Accessed from the entrance to the departing flight curb
Open from 8:00am - midnight
Vehicles may not be left overnight
All spaces are covered, and are patrolled by the Orlando Police Department - Airport Division

I like the 436 route (Semoran Blvd) during business hours.
I shop at the Edwin Watts, or TGI Fridays and "on occasion" HOOTERS!!
All at the 1st light off the Beachline.
During odd hours I'll use the cell phone lot. Never a problem.

I also use TGI Fridays, very convenient, and if you are thirsty you can always go in for a beverage.
