Check with AAA and the villages transportation, have used both, AAA is better, leaves earlier, and avoids some of the traffic, and gets a much better parking spot. Good luck, as these are probably both sold out.

Missie Decided I needed to get out and see some places - went to see cirque Holidaze in Lakeland - fantastic!! Also day on beach at Siesta Key to see sandcastles - really nice - especially the free trolly ride all around the town - see the homes of the rich and not so rich! Also lights at St. Augustine at Xmas. Also Trans Silvanian Orchestra - OK but mistake - too loud - not my type. Its the Manheim Steamrollers I wanted to see but they were fully booked - next year! I've decided to go on more trips - they are not expensive for a day out. I went on my own to 2 of them and with a girlfriend on two. Had fun either way. I'm working my way up to going on a cruise or flying to a carribbean island to lay on the beach for a week -as well as explore! I'm doing the baby steps now but I'm already looking at the longer tours - problem a bit is single room almost cost of double - but some hotels have single rooms (I'm told - I've not found them!)
You need to look in Sunday paper in travel section for all the trips going from here. Good Luck. Marg.

Default Day Trips and more

Missie
Go on the day trips - well worth the cost and some nice days out for a change. I went to Siesta Key for the sandcastle competitions and free trolly ride round the town - really nice. Also saw Cirque Holidaze - amazing. and of course St. Augustine Lights. Only one I wasn't as happy with was Trans Silvanian Orchestra - too loud. I wanted to see Manheim Steamrollers - full but theres always next year. Now I'm looking into maybe 2-3 day trips or maybe a cruise - this lone traveler is getting brave! If you ever need a second person to fulfill the double occupancy we could meet. Marj.

Check out JP Tours. I have not been on any yet, but am looking into going to St. Augustine in April. Friend took that tour and recommended. They have a website.

You might also check out Traveling Villagers, which meets the 2nd Monday of the month at Moyer Rec Center. It is a social club that promotes the opportunity for Viilagers to meet and travel together, whether on day trips from The Villages, or longer trips worldwide. If you're really getting brave, some cruise ships have accommodations that cater to solo cruisers.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra was formed from the Heavy Metal Band Savatage. Before Trans-Siberian Orchestra, most of the core of the band were all members of progressive metal band Savatage. Its primary lyricists, Paul O'Neill and Jon Oliva, have played that role in Savatage for years, with Oliva being the band's original vocalist. Music director Al Pitrelli has also been Savatage's lead guitarist since 1995. Fourth founding member Bob Kinkel had been involved with the group for years in the role of engineer and session musician. In fact, Trans-Siberian Orchestra's best-known song, “Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)” is re-issued from Savatage's 1995 album “Dead Winter Dead.”
