Default Has anyone cruised Princess' New Royal or Regal Princess?

We are doing something different this year and going on a cruise over Thanksgiving. We decided to book on Princess' new ship just arrived this summer the Regal Princess (sister ship and duplicate of the Royal Princess).

We are frequent Princess travelers and looking forward to the new boat experience.

We were on the Royal Princess last January out of Ft L. We have been on 12 or 13 Princess cruises, and were anxious to see the new ship. Honestly, most of their other ships are very similar...This was different. Bigger, but we didn't find it much better. It seemed hard to navigate, perhaps because we weren’t familiar with it, but by the 5th or 6th day, we thought it should have become more familiar. Our cabin steward was the worst we have seen in 28 cruises. often not doing up the room for hours, even when we left the sign on the door indicating it was ready to be made up. But we generally are very relaxed and easy going about cruising, so for us to comment about our steward was unique. The shows seem to be of less quality than on other princess ships, and the food in the dining room was only so-so, with very slow service. It seemed our wait staff had too many tables, we were always missing our after dinner show times and events. We had early seating..

Sorry to paint a less than stellar experience for you. We are cruising again in Jan 15 on the Allure of the Seas,. The second time on this ship, which we enjoyed so much more than the Royal Princess.

I hope others can paint a better picture for you... and you enjoy your cruise.

We have found that the quality of food, service, and guest relations on Princess since Carnival purchased it, has been declining. We have been on 35 cruises and prefer Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. Allure is indeed a fabulous ship and the shows were wonderful.

We cruised on the Inaugural Royal. The balconies are SMALL. We LOVE the Caribe balcony, and the Royal (Regal) deck plans have done away with this. They have also done away with the Horizon Adult pool. Be careful if you book a balcony, because the Sky walk has a direct view onto some balconies.

We love Princess. We'll be on the Dec 13th sailing out of FLL, Caribbean Princess. Anyone else going? :-)

Was on the Royal Princess a year ago for Thanksgiving. Usually the elevators are busy on the first day. These were very tiny and busy everyday. Waited on them too many times. And yes, the balcony was very tiny. Think they put to many rooms on this ship. After 40 cruises, I would not go again on it. We have discovered Celebrity is our favorite. Hope your experience is different and you enjoy her.

We'll be onboard. We took the same ship November 1st to the Eastern Caribbean. A couple of weeks later got an offer we couldn't refuse for the Dec 13 cruise and here we go again. Want to meet for breakfast on Dec 14?

We were on the inaugural transatlantic out of Venice and were unimpressed with the ship although the ship does have a beautiful Centrum. You can't go wrong with the Oasis or Allure.

We will be sailing on the Regal Princess on Nov. 30. I have just read some reviews that were not very complimentary - I hope I do not have to write one that reflects the same problems.
Is anyone else going on the 30th?

We are in Ft Lauderdale tonight Sailing away on the Regal tomorrow.
We learned a long time ago to listen and go do and judge for ourselves.

Somehow complaints rise to the surface. We are long time loyal Princess customers. Over the years there have been isolated incidents/issues which is a statistical fact of life......usually reflects the minority reports.

We will let y'all know when we get back!

Have a great time, BTH!

It's all relative, I'd rather be on a cruise than be at home!
