Kuwai more picturesque--IN Maui get to the top of Holihokola for the sunrise --magical & beautiful--go on a sail out of Kapalua--did it back in 81'--Maui is way different now==Kapalua Bay was the absolute best hotel we ever stayed in--too bad they made condo's out of it

Kauai is much more impressive and the North West side of the island can't really be seen by car. So it's a copter or boat.

We took the helicopter ride over Kuahi in December. It was spectacular, and I’d do it again in a minute.

A better alternative, consider a Hot Air Balloon much better and super quiet.

Go both.....seeing the road to Hana from the air plus landing on Holihokola, having some cheese and wine and enjoying the view makes it a great ride. I agree that Kuwai is more picturesque, so do both

Went in 2002 - took a helo ride on three different islands, as stated already, Kauai was the most rugged and beautiful. Be sure to take the Rod to Hana on Maui too.

For sure Kauai. I lived in HI (Oahu) for 10 years and made numerous trips to neighbor islands. Helicopter ride over Kauai lets you see Waimea Canyon and the Na Pali coast. Beautiful island. AS for Maui, in my opinion road to Hana is overrated. Takes you all day and and if you get the least bit car sick forget it!

KAUAI!! We did Blue Hawaiian Helicopter's on 2/17/18 for our 4th time! We had a female pilot who was amazing, she is a 3rd generation female pilot!! Blue Hawaiian does an outstanding job! The helicopter films your flight in real time, including audio of the conversation, they take the time to address each person in the helicopter and make it personable! Needless to say, we bought the little key drive and thoroughly enjoy rewatching the flight and listening to the decription of various parts of the island. If it is your first time in Kauai, consider doing the ride early in your trip so you know the spots you might want to drive to. ALOHA!
