Default London hotel

We expect to stay 2 nights in London next month. Can anyone recommend a hotel from personal experience that would not be more than the equivalent of about $225 per night?
Thanks in advance to all that answer.

Holiday inn selling points for half price now. Points may be less expensive and avoid the awful Vat tax. The have a credit card, no fee, with 140,000 bonus that should get you free nights for the trip

Airbnb may be an option

Use priceline or hotels.com.

Have stayed in nice hotels (we prefer European ones) using priceline and been happy about it.

We like the London theatre district so stay near stops of the Piccadilly line.

Buy points and redeem. Avoid the 20 percent Vat tax. Too big to ignore,

Random search in August shows many hotels 50k or less points. Divide by 2 to get price. That’s 250 or less without a 20 percent tax

I stayed in the Melia White House in London for 3 or 4 nights. I think they have rooms for about $250 and up. It was clean, in a safe-feeling Downtown area and I would recommend it to others. I thought it was very nice -- upscale, a bit. I also enjoyed their authentic English breakfasts.

The good news is the dollar is strong vs the pound and almost at parity with the euro.

Yes. I would use points if possible to book a hotel there.

Do you have any specific location or attraction in mind?

The Royal National Hotel
Spent 3 nights there in May
Rooms are clean, and the hotel is in a great location. There is a underground station within 2 min. And it’s a short walk to Piccadilly Circus if you happen to be taking in a show. Enjoy your time there. It is a beautiful city!!

Stayed at the Tower Hotel in 2019. Great locations next to The Tower of London me the Tower Bridge. Easy access to subway and several restaurants nearby.

You could try the Strand Palace hotel in Covent Gardens.
We stayed there recently. It was wonderful.

Default Staying in London

The best way to get around London is by their amazing subway system. Make sure where ever you stay, it’s walking distance to the subway. They all connect, so travel is easy. I stayed at a small bed and breakfast. The food was fabulous. Read reviews before you book.

Sorry, I posted then called my club and asked the rates. Too high. Delete will not allow me to delete the post. Edit is working. Have fun in London.
