Will be traveling cross NY from NJ .making stop at Niagara Falls. Wanted to stop at the wine country but the hotel Watkins Glen Harbor is booked. Anyone have a favorite inn or Hotel?

Why not stay at one of the many bed and breakfast locations located in the Finger Lakes area? Click here to check them out.

There are some wonderful wineries around all the Finger Lakes. I have lived in the area all of my life and am still in awe of its beauty.

We have stayed at and enjoyed The Viking Resort and Motel on Lake Keuka near Penn Yan, NY. With there being several wineries close by, it seems to fill the bill of what you're looking for. Check out their website, linked above as well as the Keuka Lake Wine Trail where you'll find details on the several area wineries all on one page.
