Default Overseas Travel Vaccinations

Hello Travelers, Who do you go to for your travel vaccinations (malaria, Hep A, etc.) for overseas travel? My doctor in The Villages doesn't provide travel vaccinations. Thanks for your help.

do NOT go to Tri-County Infectious Disease....they charged my husband and I $900 for vacinations to go to China. We did not know about the cost ahead of time, we assumed a couple of shots couldn't cost that much. Once we had the shots, we had no recourse. Ask a travel agent or AAA who can provide the shots.

Does a Walgreens have someone trained in knowing what immunizations you will need? We used Travel immunizations office in LSL for cruise to South America when we would be on Amazon. Cost $1300. Or try to get your family Doctor to at least to tell you what you need. In MD before we moved here, we got them from regular Dr. We had to buy the meds not covered by our insurance.

The State Departmet's website should list the vaccinations needed for each country.

Before we moved to FL, we got them from our Doctor, but had to buy them ourselves. The Doctor's assistant administered the injections. If you are going to a equatorial area, do you want to risk your life on cheap or skipping vaccinations and come home with Malaria or Dengue Fever?

Where I get them relatively inexpensively in Orange County, CA is here. Orange County, California - Foreign Travel

They can provide some pretty exotic vaccines such as one might need for an African safari but one must call in advance for an appointment and so that the vaccine can be ordered. Some vaccines require special care such as refrigeration and have short shelf lives.

Hopefully one of the nearby highly populated Florida counties have health departments which provide such services.
