Default Parking at Port Canaveral

Are there any close, off port parking for cruises out of Port Canaveral. I know there is parking at the Port but fairly expensive.

We left our car at a friends place in Canaveral when we went on a New years cruise last January. If we were to do it again, we'd park at the docks. It wasn't that bad, $8 a day if I remember correctly. It was a lot more convenient. It took our friends some time to make their way through traffic and turmoil to pick us up.

Thanks for the info. I wish it were just $8 a day. Unfortunately it is $15 a day.

I dont know what you paid for parking at Port Canaveral but here is Parking information directly from their Web site and it appears to be $8 per day!!
***********************************
Port Canaveral is located on the U.S. East Coast within easy cruising distance of the island of Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean. Port Canaveral serves all of Central Florida from its coastal location in Brevard County. It is the closest deep water port to the nearby Orlando-area attractions and neighboring Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Patrick Air Force Base, Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach.

From the Orlando International Airport, the port is just a short drive along Florida's Beeline Expressway (S.R. 528) to reach the cruise terminals, restaurants, parks, beach, and other places of business and recreation.

Port Canaveral is even closer to Melbourne International Airport. From the airport, follow signs to eastbound U.S. 192, cross the Indian River on the causeway, and turn north on SR A1A. Drive along the coast until you reach Port Canaveral. You also could take U.S. 192 westbound to Interstate 95 and drive north to the Beeline Expressway's (S.R. 528) east exit.

From the Space Coast Executive Airport in Titusville, drive east for three blocks; turn south onto U.S. 1 Hwy. to the Beeline Expressway (S.R. 528), and east to the Port.

From the Daytona Beach International Airport, go east to Interstate 95, and then drive south to the Beeline Expressway's (S.R. 528) east exit.

Signs along the highway will direct you to the cruise terminals at Port Canaveral. Cruise Terminals 5, 8, and 9/10 are located on the north side of the Port and can be reached via S.R. 401. Cruise Terminals 2, 3 and 4 are on the south side near the Port's oceanfront campground, Jetty Park. Just turn left off S.R. 528 into Port Canaveral, and follow the signs.

Parking at Port Canaveral's Cruise Terminals is paved, gated, and under 24-hour surveillance. Parking fee is $8.00 per day for vehicles up to 20 feet in length and $16.00 per day for vehicles over 20 feet. The total amount for the time the vehicle is to be parked must be paid in full upon entering the parking area. Visa, MasterCard, Traveler's Checks issued in U.S. dollars and Cash are accepted in payment of fees. All fees stated above are subject to change without notice by Canaveral Port Authority.

Sorry, seems to be $15 according to the website.

http://www.portcanaveral.org/cruising/parking.php

$15/night for vehicles up to 20 feet in length
$26/night for vehicles over 20 feet
The total fee for the time the vehicle will be parked is due on entry. We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard and Traveler’s Checks issued in U.S. dollars.

Have you considered spending the night before the cruise in a nearby motel. Some motels will let you park for free. Then you could take a cab to and from the pier?
And while you were in the area, dinner at Dixie Crossroads in Titusville. Rock Shrimp....yum!!

If you have the time, a visit to Merritt Island is worthwhile.

We recently cruised out of Port Canaveral and the parking was $105.00 for the week. We packed light and were able to split cost among 3 couples. Always looking to save a few bucks.
