I thought it was odd someone would mention Sea World after all the bad press they've been receiving. If you were to see the documentary "Blackfish", I think it was on HBO when I watched it, you wouldn't want to patronize them. You obviously bought your pass much earlier, but it's something you might want to think about. This is what's been going at the gate this week.

i did not know this was going on but i still think Sea World is a wonderful place. i think the whales are well cared for, well fed, and give joy to countless spectators every day.
am more surprised no activists picketed when the mentioned trainer was accidentally killed by the whale in 2010!! that was a tragedy! i especially love the little dog and cat show which features a wonderful variety of rescued animals, from dogs to ducks!

Sorry if I'm repeating old information ... As a reaction to Blackfish, it's been reported that 8 out of 10 performers scheduled for a concert in February have cancelled appearances, including Willie Nelson.

PLEASE, PLEASE Chachacha, see Blackfish! I watched it last night on Netflix and it was sickening. We have all been blinded by the lies of the PR people of SeaWorld. They even lied to the trainers. Dawn Brancheau was killed by Tillicum. He grabbed her arm & pulled her under the water. She drowned but he bit & swallowed her left arm & scalped her along with other injuries. He had killed other trainers at other facilities but SeaWorld never told the trainers at Orlando. These wild mammals are used to the ocean; what do you think happens to them psychologically when they're kept in what's essentially a bathtub! Not to mention how they're captured in the first place. The mothers cry for their babies when they're taken from them in the wild and in captivity. I think the rest of the park is great but they need to do away with the whale shows. I urge everyone to boycott SeaWorld and let them know why.

Have a good time at Busch Gardens.

I do not think I could watch it .
Sadly what can been done now with the Orca now.
Can they ever be released in to the wild ?
It is likely that a lot of the others in the park go the same treatment.

I personally will never go to SeaWorld or a circus again. It is not right what we do to these animals for our entertainment.

I have voiced a negative opinion about the treatment of circus animals since my teens. The reason I say that is to lead into the good news: I have seen many wonderful improvements in the treatment of animals since the 50's. Back then people would look at me and say thinks like "it's only a stinking animal". Now I see the nods of agreement more times than not.

Yea I agree with mostly everyone on here. I would not be going to SeaWorld, not after watching Blackfish. It's absolutely horrifying what you learn on these animal documentaries. To say SeaWorld is a wonderful place while refusing to watch the documentary is flat out wrong, wonderful for who?

I watched the documentary after I read about it here.

It was a disturbing. Both about the Orcas and the danger to the trainers and that work with them!

After watching that video, I could not go to sea world and pay them any money. I would not feel right about it.

Any venue that uses animals as entertainment or as moneymakers is not something I support and that includes the Westminster Dog Show.

I agree totally. Wild animals in captivity is almost always cruel and inhumane and has been done since the beginning of time. I love sea World & what it offers. Wild animals are just that. Wild & dangerous as are a lot of other jobs. People choose to do them.
