Default If you haven't been there- Sicily is an amazing trip

We took a spring trip to Sicily last year. If you never traveled there, we highly recommend it. There were suprises every turn of the way; from ancient Greek ruins, beautiful countryside, hip urban and historic Palermo, and beautiful seaside villages. The cuisine is delicious, with many fish dishes. Spring and fall are good times to travel there - it can get very hot in many parts of Sicily in the summer.

I plan to go to Italy and possibly visit the birthplace of my mom as well as other cities. I have never been to Europe and look forward to the day that will happen.

Nic pics. Thanks for posting.

We were there a few years ago - it is very nice and doesn't get the hordes of tourists that other places in Italy get. The fresh seafood is to die for.

Michael Corleone had mixed feelings about his Sicilian trip.

Nice picture.

Reminds me of a joke I was told.

A friend tells his buddy that he is taking his wife to Italy for their fifth anniversay.

His buddy remarks, "you don't do something like that on your fifth anniversay, you do that for your twenty fifth anniversay".

The frist guy says, "you don't understand, on our twenty fifth anniversary, I am sending her back".

GREAT PICTURES! Did you use a travel agency for your trip and if so which one if I may ask? My family is from Sicily and it has always been a dream of mine to visit. Thanks!

We used a NY local travel club: Club ABC, but I know alot of the tour companies go there specifically (Trafalgar, Globus, etc.) My father was born in Sicily, so it was great seeing his "country", and also the Cassara name there, including a winery (delicioso!)
