Default Still a good time to visit Colorado Springs

Our grandson just got offered a promotion and is moving to Colorado Springs. We are wanting to fly down and visit him to help get him settled in and are wondering if anyone knows what are some good places to visit at this time in the year?

Default quick response

Thank you for your prompt response. I think these links are wonderful. Beautiful views. We are quite excited to go on this trip. I didn't consider the higher altitude and if that would be an issue. So I appreciate this very much. We will definitely have to be a little more prepared. Thanks again.

Wife and I spent 3 months there Oct-Dec 2011. It is a beautiful city. Be sure to see the Garden of the Gods, as mentioned above. Also, as mentioned, be sure to stay hydrated. Besides the alitude, it is very dry there compared to FL, humidity levels may be in the teens most of the time, so you loose alot of body moisture without feeling the sweat. There is so much to see and do there. If it wasn't for the harsh winters, we may have chosen "The Springs" as our new home instead of The Villages. We saw morning temps as low at -5 degrees F, and it wasn't even winter yet! This time of year should be very nice, it also gets quite hot in the summer there. Inspite of the elevation, it is considerd desert there. Although Colorado Springs is higher elevation than Denver, it gets less snow, due to its location in regards to the mountains to the west.

EDIT: Also be sure to see The Air Force Academy
