Taking a trip to Ireland and then a cruise to the Baltic.i have traveled with clothes pins and inflatable hangers, so I can rinse my clothes . Any suggestions on what to pack when laundry may not be easy to access?

I have purchased disposable underpants at about $1.00 per pair. I am not sure if they were from Madgellen or Travelsmith catalogue . The disposables last about 3 -4 washings. Both of these catalogues also sell "Ex Oficio underware " anti microbial and super fast drying.
Keep an eye out for sales on line from the above places.. I picked up a multi pocket vest instead of a purse,.do not forget a purse size "light & small" umbrella and raincoat for Ireland. Check theses sources and sales out on Google. They are worth it ! I also have done the fill the bag laundry service on cruise ships. The secret is to ROLL UP all the clothes you put in and really squish them into the bag..You will be surprised how much you can get in. I also took washable silk blouses that dried quickly with no ironing. ( I am a consignment shopper and hunted for this item) I recently did the cruises you mentioned. I found basic black bottoms and cordinated a variety of tops, tunics. I wore scarves or statement costume necklaces and earrings ,change things out. Scarves are big overseas. a basic black long skirt or pallatzo pants are good enough for dressy nite. Remember if you are flying there the carry on might need to be of a lighter weight then American flights. I purchased a 7 lb. suite cases from Kohls on sale. If you weigh you own suitcase empty you will be amazed At its empty weight!be sure to buy /take a hand scale with you in case you fly back with many souvineers.

You can purchase shampoo and soap "sheets"
Just google: "Shampoo sheets" or go to Amazon and type "shampoo sheets" They are great because they are not liquid, you are limited to 3 ounces of anything liquid. Also, airlines are cracking down on weight limits, so the lighter you go, the better. Another idea is new luggage by IT (International Travel) -- Bealls Outlet has some or you can order on line. The largest suitcase weighs 5 lbs. The standard carry on weighs 3 lbs. |
