Travel to Boston for Red Sox game in Sept.
I plan on attending BB game in Sept. The hotels seem very expensive in Boston 300-400$ per night. Also parking for the game seems to be a problem. Are there shuttles to the game? I would be ok staying 10-20- miles from Fenway.
Any other things to do or see in Boston. |

I think the Giants would be the closest, as they won 3 World Series championships in 5 years (2010, 2012, 2014), and they participated in the 2002 WS.

Look at staying in Waltham, if you don't mind being 10-15 miles outside the city. Plenty of hotels and reasonably easy access, if you have a car. Boston's public transportation system is awful. You'll need a car, unless you're staying downtown ... in which case, $400-$500/night is the usual going rate. Somewhere around 80% of Red Sox tickets are committed to Season Tickets, so you're looking at buying them on the secondary market and they're pricey, depending who's in town and how the season is going. Don't expect to just show up at the ticket office and get a ticket. If you do end up on public transportation, you want to get to "Kenmore Square/Station" (not "Fenway"). The Cssino could be a good option. Their room rates aren't bad, they're close to the city and they have plenty of options for entertainment and transportation. |
